Nick Everton died at the end his Lower Sixth year, on 13 June 2002, aged 17. Nick was a very popular student, making an all-round contribution to the School, including being a keen and committed sportsman. He also clocked up over 200 hours in community service as a millennium volunteer.
The whole School was profoundly affected by his death, which came after a short battle with stomach cancer. An award in Nick’s name is presented at the Annual Celebration Event each year, to a Lower Sixth student who embodies Nick's personal qualities of courage, compassion, friendship and honesty.
A garden commemorating his life is maintained outside the Sixth Form common-room.
