You will have heard of technology entrepreneur Elon Musk, CEO of the spaceflight company SpaceX. You will have heard of Musk’s dream of revolutionising the world of transport. What you may not have heard however is that a CHS alumnus from Class of 2010 is a hugely influential part of this new frontier of innovation.
After studying for his degree in Aerospace Engineering at The University of Michigan, Philippe began his Master’s at the world renowned Massachusetts Institute of Technology, working in the department of Aeronautics and Astronautics. He is now a member of the Aerospace Computational Design Lab and the Team Captain of a group of graduate students who, in 2016, beat more than 100 other teams with their design for a passenger-carrying Hyperloop "pod".
At Competition Weekend in January 2017, the team were awarded 3rd Place in Design & Construction, and won the Safety & Reliability Award.
